DAAR AISHA COLLEGE

ANNOUNCES 2008
THE YEAR OF THE FAMILY

Courses throughout the year will focus on the Muslim Family, its structure, its needs, its challenges, its foundation, its aims and achievements.

The greatest example taken from the Family of the most perfect human being to walk the earth the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)who said:

The best of you is the best to his family and I am the best among you to my family”

One of the most striking features of Muslim society is the importance it attaches to the family.  The family unit is regarded as the cornerstone of a healthy and balanced society. The family is a divinely inspired institution which forms the foundation and basis of a Muslim society.

The functional Family unit provides stability and tranquility to its closely knit members.  The family unit provides a secure and healthy 'home' environment for its members to grow into productive, balanced human beings able to serve Allah  and serve His creation.

It radiates human virtues, such as, love, comfort, compassion, peace, generosity, security, sacrifice, justice etc. and it provides a refuge against any difficulty.

In a righteous Family, virtue proliferates where every one of its members leads a virtuous and meaningful Islamic life. They protect, care, and serve one another.

Family values are derived from a great religious tradition rooted in the family-nurturing Abrahamic faiths.

A virtuous and blessed Muslim family contributes to a virtuous and blessed society and ultimately to a blessed Ummah, an Ummah that knows its purpose and lives to fulfil it guided by the life and teachings of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) seeking only the Eternal Greatest Pleasure of Allah manifested in fulfilling our purpose on earth to be true representatives of Allah, His vice-regents on earth and to serve humanity at large and be a source of illumination and guidance to mankind.

However, we live in an age where the nature, function, and structure of the family are being seriously challenged.  Yet, in today’s rapidly-changing world the family haven has never been more needed by children and adults alike.

“The survival of the Western family is a question of immediate Muslim concern, and we must offer our views until the time comes when our friends and neighbors, their doctrines broken on the anvil of reality, are humbled enough to listen
—sh. Abdul Hakim Murad

It is to this end that Daar Aisha Shariah College insha' Allah is devoting 2008 to The Muslim Family.
