The aim of this Course is to undertake an expansive survey of the ideas and ideologies that emerged from the early generations of Islam and continued to weave their way through the highs and lows of Islamic history. A colorful, powerful past that continues to inform and inspire ideas prevailing in the modern Muslim World. As always, the past impacts the present and prepares the future. The history of ideologies is vital to understanding the Islam of our age and most especially the place we occupy in this vast landscape of ideas.
